Stephen was one of the helpers. He loved Jesus and was full of God's power.
Some people didn't like what Stephen said about Jesus. They took him to the leaders. Stephen told them the whole story of God's people and how they kept rejecting God's messengers.
They got so angry that they threw stones at him. But Stephen looked up and saw Jesus standing in heaven. He prayed, “Lord, forgive them.” Stephen was the first person to die for believing in Jesus.
