Jesus went back to His hometown, Nazareth. On the day of rest, He went to the synagogue, where people met to worship.
Jesus stood up and read from the scroll of Isaiah: “God's Spirit is on me to bring good news to the poor, to set people free, and to help blind people see.”
Then Jesus said, “Today, this has come true!” He meant it was about Him! But the people got angry and wouldn't believe Him.
