Shepherds in the Night

Advent Day 17 of 24 · Luke 2:8–12 · Read it on December 17.

Out in the dark fields near Bethlehem, some shepherds were watching their sheep. It was a quiet night.

Suddenly an angel appeared, and God's bright glory shone all around them! The shepherds were so scared.

The angel said, “Don't be afraid! I have good news that will bring great joy to everyone. Today in David's town, a Savior has been born for you. He is Christ the Lord! You will find the baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
